About

Hi, I'm Ryan.

SEO strategist. Occasional swearer on stage. Probably the person in the room who's read the most Google API leak documentation.

Ryan White

I've been working in SEO for 15 years, the last few as Head of SEO Strategy at Glass Atlas — a Manchester-based agency where I lead strategy across a portfolio of complex, large-scale clients.

My speciality is the bit most SEOs find uncomfortable: making search work inside real organisations. That means understanding Google's ranking systems at a technical depth most people don't bother with, and then translating that into something a developer will actually build, a stakeholder will actually approve, and a business will actually see results from.

I've spoken at Brighton SEO, Tech SEO North, and Manchester DM on topics ranging from getting technical SEO bought in at board level to breaking down what NavBoost — one of Google's most significant but least understood ranking signals — actually is and why it matters.

I'm also available for freelance consulting and advisory work with brands who need senior SEO thinking without a full-time hire. If that sounds like you, get in touch.

"There's a certain way SEO is supposed to be done. Safe recommendations, templated audits, slide decks that all say the same things. That's not what I do here. I dig into how Google actually works, I tell clients the uncomfortable truths, and I make sure the work actually gets shipped."
